Nym vs Instinct for an errand with a purchase
You’re about to let an assistant spend money on a gift. With Nym, you see the item and the total, and nothing is bought until you say yes. Instinct’s own terms let it buy on any service you connect.
The difference
On Instinct’s product page, you connect it to your apps and devices, and it follows up on loose ends. You reach it by text or call.
Its terms say it can act inside the services you connect, including buying things. With Nym, every purchase waits for your yes.

Every purchase waits for your yes. Juno sent three options, the price on each page, and a warning that the $56 knife came from a third-party seller.
Instinct
Its terms let Instinct take the actions it thinks answer your request, including buying. Approval before each purchase is a setting, not a promise in the terms.
What it connects to
Nym
Picking a gift needs nothing connected. Give your Nym a store login if you want it to buy, or connect Gmail or Amazon when a job needs them.
Instinct
The terms let it copy and keep data from services you connect, and share your payment method with the store. That’s a long list for a kitchen knife.
When it’s ready to buy
Nym
Your Nym shows the items, the store and the total, then waits for your yes. It buys from Amazon with your account, and from independent online shops. The store’s confirmation email is your proof, and your Nym can tell you where an Amazon order is.
Instinct
Instinct works by text and call, so any approval arrives there. Its terms say fees are in US dollars and non-refundable.
Where you find the gift list later
Nym
In your chat, and in a gift list if you ask. Your Nym builds it as a private app, saved between visits, ready for next year.
Instinct
You find the gift in your text or call thread. To delete what it copied from your accounts, you go to its Workspace settings, as its privacy policy explains.
When you tell it to stop
Nym
Your Nym stops, and scheduled work switches off in the same chat. Asking it to forget your sister’s address is one request.
Instinct
Its privacy policy says it keeps what it collected after you disconnect a service. You delete that in its Workspace settings.

When you’d choose Instinct
Instinct is the better fit if you want an assistant that rings you: its homepage says it calls or texts you on its own. You can text or call your Nym, but it doesn’t phone you.
Choose Nym when you want to see the pick and its total before any money moves, and keep the gift list for next year.
How you get access, and what you pay
Instinct’s homepage says “Text Instinct to get started.” It lists no price. We read it on September 19, 2026.
Nym is in early access. Free costs nothing and lets you have as many Nyms as you like. Plus is $20 a month, and Pro is $60 (see pricing).
